ZVU STROJÍRNY is pleased to announce the appointment of Vladimír Kysela as its new CEO from 1 June 2016. The previous CEO, Vladimír Čepelík, will now hold the position of Sales Director of ZVU STROJÍRNY. Vladimír Kysela will be responsible for the management of the company, long-term strategic development, optimisation of the product portfolio and strengthening of export performance.
Vladimír Kysela has more than twenty years of experience in management roles for large mechanical engineering and electro-technical companies. Prior to joining ZVU STROJÍRNY, he served as the vice president of ABB s.r.o., where he was successively in charge of the Energy Systems Division and the Process Automation Division. In his parallel role as the Director of Strategic Development at ABB Czech Republic, he coordinated the implementation of specific industrial initiatives, market research activities and the process of entry into new market segments such as data centres, rail vehicles, smart grids and e-mobility. He was responsible for structured assessment of acquisition targets. In 2014, he was a finalist in the Manager of the Year nationwide competition organised by the Confederation of Industry and the Management Association.
He previously worked at STAVOPROJEKT and PLASTON, where he managed the production plant of a subsidiary in the Czech Republic for three years. He was also a member of the board of Plaston Group, in Widnau, Switzerland, where he contributed to the company’s development, the transfer of production lines to the Czech Republic and the implementation of standard management and reporting tools.
Vladimír Kysela holds an engineering degree from the Czech Technical University in Prague. He also studied at the IMD (International Institute for Management Development) in Lausanne and at Erickson College International in Prague. He is the first vice-chairman of the Czech Electrotechnical Association and a member of the Scientific Board of the University of West Bohemia in Plzeň.
